The Bobby Dhanjal Foundation

The Bobby Dhanjal Foundation for Children aims to support disadvantaged children across Leicester.

About the Foundation

Established in 2012 by our company director and founder, Bobby Dhanjal, it aims to ensure that all children, from any background, race or religion, have the experience of playing and making new friends in a safe environment. Bobby, who grew up in the city, was eager to give something back to the next generation and invest in its future.

The Foundation is made up of funds from personal donations and staff activity and is managed in partnership with the Leicestershire & Rutland Community Foundation. It selects different children’s groups to help with fundraising and other activities each year.

Leicester is known for being a young city. While 27% of the population are aged between 0 and 19, one in three live within the official definition of child poverty.
Businesses are pivotal in tackling the problem, and BDWM is keen to play a leading role.

By setting up the fund with the Leicestershire & Rutland Community Foundation, the Bobby Dhanjal Foundation benefits from Government match funding of £1 for every £2 donated for long-term support. It selects different children’s groups to help each year.

Bobby Dhanjal said:

“The Community Foundation has worked with us to identify where we want to give and how we can reach people to make a difference.
“By creating an endowment fund, we are increasing our giving by 50% and working to create a legacy for the children of Leicester”.
